It's time to get fit, ready for the start of term 1, 2018. Here's a list of things to do.
Sanchin and Tensho kata - Sanchin should be performed twice every day and is a great way to kick off your morning. Tensho can also be performed if you know it.
Mon, Wed and Fri - 15 mins
5 basic combinations 3x each side
5 kihon ippons 3x each side.
fighting combination #1, 2x each side
Tues and Thurs - 15 mins
10x Jodan punches, 10x chudan punches, 10x gedan punches
10x jodan blocks, 10x chudan blocks, 10x gedan blocks
10x kin geri kicks, 10x mae geri kicks, 10x mawashi geri kicks
repeat until you've done 15 minutes.
Additional exercises that are just plain good for you
swim - swimming is a great low impact way to work the whole body. Try crab walking in the shallow end of the pool, great for lower back and upper leg strength.
Walking - brisk walking works the whole body and doesn't put pressure on your joints like jogging can. If you're new to jogging or haven't jogged for a long time, walking is your best option.
