Joining a karate class can seem a bit daunting at first. At Karate Byford we want to take away the mystery and make joining our classes an easy and rewarding experience.

Below is a list of steps you can do to help you on your way to achieving your goals, no matter if they're for fitness, defence, confidence or just because it's something you've always wanted to do...

  • Choose a class time and day that suits.

  • Wear comfortable clothing like shorts and a t-shirt or active wear.

  • Bring a drink bottle.

  • Turn up 10-15 minutes early for class.

  • Let the instructor know if you have any medical issues.

  • Bring a small towel.

  • We train barefoot so make sure your nails are trimmed.

  • Learning is best done when relaxed so don’t worry about being new. Everybody had to have a first lesson so enjoy yourself.

  • Complete the online membership form.

  • Turn up and have some fun.
